Home MenuFair Housing
The City of Des Plaines abides by the Fair Housing Act (Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968) and upholds the right to equal opportunity and non-discriminatory housing practices. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development requires that the City takes steps to affirmatively further fair housing.
If you or someone you know may have encountered housing discrimination, complaints and inquiries may be made directly to the Illinois Department of Human Rights.
If you feel your housing concern is a local issue or need additional information or assistance, please contact Open Communities at info@open-communites.org or 847-501-5760.
