As of Summer 2021, a permit is no longer required to host a Garage/Yard sale. If you are looking to host a sale on your property, here are a few general rules:
1. Occasional sales shall be permitted for three (3) consecutive days between 8:00 a.m. and sunset each day. Not more than three (3) each occasional sales shall be conducted within any calendar year with the exception of one (1) additional sale if moving or vacating the premises.
2. Signs advising of the sale must be removed no later than 9:00 p.m. on the day the sale. No person shall place any notice of any kind in any public right-of-way on any trees, lights standards, telephone poles or other supporting structure.
3. It shall be unlawful for any person to conduct an occasional residential sale on any public street or public right of way or to display wares associated with such sale on any public street or public right of way.
4. No occasional residential sale may be conducted in a manner that causes any unsafe condition or impediment to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. Vehicular parking for any occasional residential sale is not permitted on any main thoroughfare. The Chief of Police, or his designee, may automatically suspend an occasional residential sale should such violation occur.
