We are inviting you to Fight the Loneliness Epidemic with us and enjoy an evening of appetizers, cocktails, networking, expert panel discussion, and awards ceremony at this special Successful Aging Seminar. Everyone needs social connections to survive and thrive. Social isolation is associated with a 50% percent increased risk of dementia, a 29% increased risk of heart disease, and a 32% increased risk of stroke. Loneliness increases risk of depression, anxiety, and suicide. There is no cost to attend this special event, though donations are encouraged. Doors open at 5:30pm for networking, appetizers, and a cash bar, the program will start at 6:30pm, and the evening will conclude at 8:30pm.
The panel discussion will be moderated by Illinois State Representative Michelle Mussman with guest speakers Amy Einstein, PhD, Senior Program Officer at RRF Foundation for Aging; Jennifer Hill, Executive Director at Alliance to End Homelessness in Suburban Cook County; Kiran Joshi, MD, MPH, Senior Medical Officer at Cook County Department of Public Health; and Diane Slezak, President and Chief Executive Officer at AgeOptions.
