The Des Plaines Fire and Police Departments will host a Patriot Day tribute on Sept. 11 at 8 a.m. at Des Plaines Fire Station 61 (405 S. Des Plaines River Rd.). Patriot Day commemorates the lives of those who died in the 2001 terrorist attacks and the heroes who came to the aid of the victims. This ceremony is open to the public. Parking is limited.
